Process & Illustration for Smiling Buddha – 3

I finally finished all the illustrations. I added some wording on some of the illustrations by Photoshop, such as the one outside the temple and the one with mantras (符). I looked at different Chinese mantras to get some ideas on how a mantras look. I designed one which means “go away the devil”.

So I wrote the word “勅令邪靈速退” in the mantra, which means commanding the devil to go away. I referenced the traditional mantra in Chinese Culture and designed it.

So, I can put the story and Illustration together make it as a book now! I will take it to print now. Look forward to it and hope everything can be done on time.
